Frequently Asked Questions

Are you insured?

Yes, I am fully insured with PetPlan as a pet trainer/behaviourist (IS52226903).

Are you qualified?
Yes, I have a BSc (Hons) Degree in Clinical Canine Behaviour and Training, alongside multiple CPD hours. I am a member of the Pet Professional Guild as a canine training professional, and a provisional member with the Kennel Club Accredited Instructors scheme.

What is your cancellation policy?
Sessions must be cancelled at least 48 hours in advance to receive a full refund or to change the date/time of the session. If cancellations are made within 48 hours, refunds are not guaranteed.

When will your book be released?
The aim is for Winter 2025!

What breeds do you work with?
I work with any breeds, as I have experience with a vast range of dogs including Springer Spaniels, Sled Dog breeds, Golden Retrievers and Cypriot Rescues.

I don't have an assistance dog but a disabled dog, can you help?

Yes! My own dog Tucker is considered disabled due to brain damage from a severe seizure. I have had to adapt everything for him, so it is something I am passionate about.

Why do you use positive reinforcement?
Positive reinforcement has been proven to be a very successful training method, and this method avoids pain, fear and intimidation. We do not allow the use of aversive tools. This includes prong collars, choke collars and electronic/shock collars. The use of a halti will need to be discussed.

Can I bring my children to sessions?
Yes of course! I am happy to actively involve them in the session, to help build their understanding and bond with your dog. Please note, an adult must be present for anyone under the age of 18.

Can I book and pay online?
Unfortunately, I am not taking online bookings. Please contact me, and I will reply within 24 hours with booking and payment information. Current methods of payment I accept are cash, bank transfer and PayPal.

What should I bring to sessions?

We can discuss this prior to your session depending on our training focus but the typical list of things I'd recommend are:

  • Poop bags
  • Appropriate collar/harness & fixed-length lead
  • Your dog's favourite toy/treats
  • Longline (if working on recall)
  • Settle mat (if working on settling)
  • Vest/lead wrap/some kind of label (if working on public access)
  • Any medication, fidgets, sensory items you require
