Assistance Dogs
I have over 4 years experience training and working with assistance dogs, as well as over 8 years working with young people, and various disabilities and mental health conditions.
I understand the long wait times for pre-trained dogs and strict critera, as well as organisations not always been accessible, so I offer public access tests and other support for owner-trained teams.
Owner-training can be daunting and scary, especially for individuals with anxiety. I am here to help! I strive to help in any way I can, whether this is a one-off public access test to assess your dog's behaviours.
All of my services can be adapted to suit your needs, so please do not hesitate to ask me if you require any accomodations.

1-2-1 Training

1-2-1 training sessions are completely tailored to your individual needs, whether this involves starting from the basics or working on specific behaviors. Your session is your time, so we can work on whatever you like, but some examples of what I can help with include:
-
Task training
-
Public behaviours
-
Settling sessions
-
Advanced socialisation
Please be aware, I do not currently offer training for heavy mobility tasks, or guiding tasks for those who are visually impaired, however I am more than happy to point you towards trainers who may be able to help.
Prices per sessions:
-
£30 per session (usually 1-2 hours)
-
£100 for 4 x 1-2 hour sessions
-
-
£15 per online session (1-2 hours)
-
£50 for 4 x 1-2 hour online sessions
-
I am more than happy to travel for these sessions, but travel expenses will need to be covered - this is something we can discuss!
Public Access Tests
In the UK, there is no registration for Assistance Dogs. However, public access tests are very useful as proof of training, and to assess the standards of training your dog is currently working at. These are not a legal requirement, but can be beneficial for accessing education.
I am happy to offer these for individuals who have not trained with me previously, but we will need to have at least one in-person session beforehand. If you are with another organisation, I will require written permission from them before you take the test.
My public access test has been written to the standard of the ADI public access test. Taking this test will not give you any accreditation or qualification (such as ADUK or ADI). Dogs must be at least 18 months old to be assessed.
Prices:
-
£40 - just the one-off public access test
-
£30 per re-take
-
-
£60 - one-off training session and public access test
After your public access test, you will be provided with a written report, and a certificate with your details on stating you have passed.

Online Support

Travel can be really difficult for some owners, so I am happy to offer online training sessions and support to make my training as accessible as possible. This can be 1-2-1 or can be with a group of other handlers if you would prefer.
Prices
-
£15 per online session (1-2 hours)
-
£50 (discounted) per month for weekly calls
If you would like to fully owner-train with me but cannot travel, I am happy to do purely online/remote training. This is something we can discuss.
Temperament Testing
& Puppy Finding
Finding a suitable litter and understanding different health tests can be difficult. I have successfully temperament tested and picked a suitable puppy for assistance dog, and am happy to offer this support. This could include actively looking for a litter, or speaking to a breeder to judge suitability.
Alongside this, I am happy to temperament test litters to assess which puppy may be suitable for your needs, and provide guidance on what to look for in a puppy. This will not guarantee success, but is a great starting point for finding a suitable prospect. Temperament testing typically takes place between 6-12 weeks of age.
If you have a pet dog, I am also happy to temperament test to see if they would be suitable for assistance dog work. This also applies to owners who are looking into pre-trained dogs or rescue dogs.
